    DescriptionArt/Applique quilt. Fourteen large blocks. Cotton and polyester. Each block tells a story of African-American everyday life and activities - children playing, adults driving cars, doing chores. Blocks also portray clotheslines with clothing, trees, farm animals, a chair. Fabrics in numerous colors, prints, weaves are used in appliqué pieces; backgrounds are beige lacey fabrics. Buttons are used for eyes on figures and animals Lame’ is used for embellishment. Embroidered accents. All blocks are finely detailed and stitched. Hand pieced onto back. Multiple fabrics in narrow strips used in sashing between blocks, stitched by hand through back. Khaki-colored twill weave cotton back. 3 1/2” wide back binding, folded over to back. No batting
