    DescriptionApproximately 25 small diamonds across width, 29 down length of quilt. Diamonds vary slightly in size from 1 3/4" to 2", all placed on the diagonal; Mostly cotton; Diamonds are of multiple colorful checks, stripes, plaids, prints in numerous patterns and colors; Hand pieced, hand quilted in diagonal pattern with white thread; Edge diamonds form pointed scallop pattern; Lavender cotton muslin pieced back, folded over front to form narrow self binding; Thin batting; 5" white cotton muslin hanging sleeve machine stitched to top back; Written with black marker at back lower left corner: "Taft Putman, 1965, Hazlehurst, Mississippi."
